For years, the founders of the Impact Institute for Child Care Professionals (IICP) watched passionate educators burn out.
They saw directors buried under paperwork, navigating constant staffing shortages, and carrying the emotional weight of families, licensing, and expectations—often alone. They watched strong leaders lose confidence, creativity, and connection to the very why that brought them into early childhood education.
At the same time, they noticed a deeper problem. Most professional development in the field was either too academic to apply, too short-lived to create real change, or disconnected from the daily realities of running a child care program. Leaders were being given information—but not a pathway.
So IICP was created to build the bridge. Not just a class. Not just a workshop.
But a transformative leadership roadmap designed to move professionals from the overwhelm of daily operations to the confidence of intentional leadership—and ultimately to the legacy of meaningful community impact.
That belief remains at the heart of everything we do.
Shonice Reed is a nationally respected leadership coach, trainer, and keynote speaker with more than 30 years of experience spanning early childhood education, business leadership, marketing, and organizational development.
She founded IICP after recognizing a persistent gap in the field: leaders were being trained on what to do—but not how to lead.
Shonice brings a rare blend of business acumen, emotional intelligence, and deep understanding of early childhood systems. Her approach is practical, engaging, and grounded in real-world leadership challenges.
As Executive Director, she brings a wealth of knowledge supported by a Bachelor's in Business Administration and Child Development Administration, along with advanced certifications in Leadership, Finance, Marketing, and Strategic Planning.
Known for her matter-of-fact style, warmth, and ability to connect deeply with audiences, Shonice equips leaders with tools they can use immediately—and mindsets that last long after the training ends.

Leadership in early education deserves more than quick fixes.
It deserves a clear pathway, real accountability, and practical tools that work in real centers.
